Siyâvash Awesta’s Vision on the Current World War and Its Place in History
The terrorist operation of October 7 and the massacre of innocent civilians gathered for a celebration was a new historical tragedy born of global racism and anti-Semitism, of which the Jewish people have been victims for six thousand years. From Antiquity, long before the Christian era, through the Middle Ages, to the Nazis, the Muslim and Christian extremists, under the pretexts of avenging the blood of Christ, poisoning Mohammed, assassinating caliphs and their descendants, or through irrational and baseless jealousy of the supposed wealth and power of the Jews, this blind and popular hatred has claimed countless victims and provoked dozens of wars in history, from the ancient kingdoms of Israel, Solomon, David, and Judah to the present day. Yet, for six thousand years, from Adam and the war of Cain against Abel until today, Israel has always managed to triumph over its enemies.
The continuation of war and genocide in Gaza remains the legacy of 1,400 years of wandering by a few wild desert tribes who destroyed the civilizations of Egypt, Iran, Babylon, Syria, Lebanon, and North Africa, razed thousands of cities, beheaded millions of civilized men through famine, encirclement, and thirst, and imposed the Arabic language and religion upon half the world by the sword. But today, Benjamin Netanyahu must stop the war and liberate the people of Gaza, who are no longer Arabs, Muslims, nor Hamas supporters. For the continuation of this war has not only tarnished Israel’s international prestige but also spread anti-Semitism across the world in an alarming and spectacular manner.
Today, millions of free, humanistic, and civilized Jews oppose Bibi’s war obsession, in contrast to a handful of fewer than ten thousand individuals and a few “Neturei Karta” Jews who seek an apocalyptic world war, sharing the same mindset as Iran’s ayatollahs—partners in heart and spirit as they await the Messiah and the creation of a messianic State of Israel. The harm Benjamin Netanyahu has inflicted upon the honorable people and the genius of the Israeli nation is immense: at the very moment of Trump’s negotiations with Iran, he launched an attack to sabotage the talks, followed by the first astonishing offensive against Haifa and Tel Aviv, causing destruction and massacres—an unforgivable mistake, for which the Prime Minister of Israel will have to answer before History, alongside his other charges.
Not even God knows how the atmosphere of anti-Semitism and anti-Israeli hostility born from Bibi’s miscalculation, as he fell into the trap of extremist Orthodox voices, will be repaired and healed. The situation has reached the point where some Jewish groups, both in Israel and abroad, have described Bibi’s operations as genocidal and inhumane. Such a judgment, coming from the Jews of Israel themselves, is far more shameful for Bibi than his condemnation by international and European courts. World leaders, though pretending to accommodate him, fundamentally do not adhere to his line; they tolerate Bibi only out of fear of Israel’s global power.
The greatest example of this opposition from intellectual Jewish figures is
that of Élie Barnavi, writer, historian, thinker, and member of international
think tanks, former Israeli ambassador to France, who declared:
“I am ashamed to be a citizen of Israel.”
